Mapping the forest

a workshop on creativity, meditation and nature

Wednesday 8th May 2024 10 am-3 pm. Guided forest walk, all materials, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea included. $200 pp

Forest walking

Bronwyn has lived amongst and walked the forests of Tamborine Mountain for over 30 years. Participants will meet at the entry to the National Park for a welcome and an introduction to forest bathing (shinrin yoku). During a half hour meditative walk we will spend time connecting to all our senses.

After our walk we will have morning tea and make our way back to the studio.

Making an artist book

This workshop is about mindful noticing and getting in touch with your creativity.

As we walk through the forest, we will stop, make drawings, notes and observations.

Participants will work with a simple pre-made concertina or accordion book as a base for mapping our forest walk.

Using natural inks, paints and collage we will track our time in the forest.

All materials will be provided.

what to bring to the workshop?

  • shoes for walking in the forest. While we are not going on a massive hike we are walking through areas that may be muddy if it has rained.

  • bring a mat or something to sit on in the forest if you want to stop and draw.

  • an umbrella or raincoat just in case

  • insect repellant

  • a hat
